Before AUKAI, I was leading over 150 people.
Building teams. Scaling multiple stores. Managing operations that required clarity, pressure and responsibility every single day.
I knew how to lead, how to execute and how to build from the ground up. But despite all of that, something inside me felt off.
I was successful by the world’s standards, but not by my own.
So I made a radical decision.I left everything behind.No backup plan. No guaranteed income.
Just a one-way ticket, a backpack, and the belief that life was meant to feel more free, more inspired, more mine.I landed in Tamraght, Morocco.
Started surfing. Sat with the silence. Felt the sun again.
And I started noticing that every surfer was were struggling with sunburn, zinc and hats that weren’t made for duck dives or comfort.
I saw a problem. And instinctively, I began building the solution.
Three weeks later, AUKAI was born.
Not as a business, but as a movement.AUKAI is for people like you.

Our why
AUKAI was born from my love for the ocean and the surf lifestyle, a need for protection, comfort and effortless style in the water. When I landed in Tamraght, Morocco, I was instantly drawn in the waves, the surf community and the freedom of living by the ocean. But after long sessions under the burning sun, we knew we needed a hat that could actually keep up.
Most surf hats were uncomfortable, or didn’t stay on in the waves. We wanted something different, something that felt good to wear, stayed put in the surf and looked effortless on land.
That’s why I created AUKAI: a surf hat made for surfers, by surfers.

We believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Morocco has been an incredible home and inspiration for our journey, and we want to support the local communities that have welcomed us with open arms. That's why for every hat sold, we donate $1 to local projects in Morocco that focus on sustainable development, education, and environmental preservation. It's our way of ensuring that as we grow, we also help lift the places and people that have shaped AUKAI. Together, we can and we will make a positive change.
